Shortly (please check your records) after getting new rotors and pads at Midas I had warped Rotors in front. On 7/07/18 I replaced Rotors and pads on both fronts at Midas.
I was told the reason for the quick deterioration of brakes is The vehicle type. Drove vehicle on short 10 to 15 minute drives almost daily noticed some break dust but thought it may be new pad breaking in. Started trip to Yellowstone Park 8/09/18. Noticed some intermittent difficulty getting up to speed on highway 8/11/18.
Brakes smoke and overheat at Yellowstone on 8/12/18. Coast out of park to the nearest service station in Gardiner Montana, vehicle unsafe to drive. Result is $750.00 estimate for new rotors, pads and calipers. Called Plainfield Midas and was told not warrantable because calipers caused the problem.
Midas suggested to go to nearest Midas for repairs which is 2.5 hours away in Billings and a $750.00 tow/haul estimate. Spent 4 nights in hotel from 8/12 to 8/16 costing $686.40. Sitting in hotel today 8/16 waiting for a new alternate brand caliper to arrive and get installed because the service station cannot get the drivers front to unstick. If the problem is not solved I will be having vehicle towed to Billings Montana to the Chrysler dealership to troubleshoot as all other dealerships estimate they cannot service until 8/22 Livingston Mt.
or 8/21 Bozeman Mt. In my opinion the brake has been stuck since my original trip to Midas but did not heat up enough to be noticeable until the long trip.
